The 1st National Workshop on Infectious Diseases Awareness and Prevention was an extraordinary convergence of minds and expertise from the fields of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dentistry. Held on December 13th, 2023, this groundbreaking event coincided with the commemoration of AIDS International Day, underscoring our commitment to combatting infectious diseases collectively.
The workshop transcended disciplinary barriers, fostering an atmosphere of interdisciplinary exchange and proactive strategies to confront the challenges posed by infectious diseases. At the forefront was the focused exploration of enhancing awareness and prevention measures concerning HIV/AIDS—a pivotal area demanding collaborative efforts from healthcare professionals, students, and the wider community.
The agenda was a rich tapestry of diverse sessions, interactive discussions, and practical insights meticulously designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, comprehension, and skills vital for effectively addressing infectious diseases. These engagements served as a catalyst to nurture a community of well-informed and proactive healthcare advocates, poised to effect substantial changes in infectious disease control.
This gathering attracted esteemed university staff, dedicated students, and honored guests from diverse backgrounds, transforming the workshop into an arena for robust dialogue, collaboration, and the dissemination of evidence-based practices in infectious disease management. The shared commitment and passion of all attendees truly illuminated the path toward a more informed and resilient approach to combating infectious diseases.

1. In summary, the 1st National Workshop on Infectious Diseases Awareness and Prevention was an inspiring testament to the power of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and proactive engagement in our relentless pursuit to safeguard public health against the threats posed by infectious diseases.
Objectives:
Enhance Understanding: Provide comprehensive insights into the epidemiology, transmission, and impact of infectious diseases, particularly focusing on HIV/AIDS, to broaden attendees’ understanding.
2. Promote Awareness: Raise awareness among healthcare professionals, students, and the community about the importance of proactive measures in preventing and managing infectious diseases.
3. Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: Create a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, encouraging the exchange of best practices, innovative strategies, and research findings among faculties and participants.
4. Empower Participants: Equip attendees with practical skills, tools, and resources necessary to implement effective prevention strategies and interventions in their respective fields.

Dr. Dilman Azad Khoshnaw
• She was born in Erbil
• Bachelor of Surgery and Endocrinology.
• Master of Forensic Medicine
• University Lecturer at Erbil Medical College
• Also, at the French University of Lebanon, the Department of Law, Tishk International University Nursing Department, and the Midwifery Department at Hawler Medical University
• Certified in How to Treat Survivors of Sexual Assault by (UNICEF)
• Certificate on How to Treat Survivors of Adult and Child Sexual Abuse by PHR International
• She holds two advanced diplomas in child education up to 18 in Sweden.
• Certified Trainer of Trainers TOT on Adolescent Health and Education.
• She is also an activist in the field of women and human rights. She has also worked at the Hawler Institute of Forensic Medicine for many years.

Dr. Sharad Visht
He has completed his Under graduation (Bachelor of Pharmacy) from Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology, Bareilly. Postgraduation in Pharmaceutics from Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ghaziabad. PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Jawaharlal National Technological University, Hyderabad. He has 17 years of working experience in academics and administration in different institutions and Universities. He has guided and co-guidance 14 M. Pharm students and currently guiding 4 M. Pharm students, guided 9 interdisciplinary projects, filed 2 Process patents and 3 design patents, and was involved in 2 business incubator programs at IIT-Roorkee and DIT University, He is an assistant professor in the department of pharmaceutics and pharmacy at Tishk International University, Erbil.

Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim
Education: Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim, a distinguished scholar from Iraq, holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from University Sains Malaysia (USM). He is a seasoned researcher with expertise in cloning and characterizing genes. His journey spans molecular studies in neuroprotection, immunology, and pharmacology, contributing significantly to molecular medicine and drug discovery.
Awards and Recognition: Acknowledged as one of the top 100 researchers in the Kurdistan Region’s public universities, Dr. Ibrahim has received certificates of appreciation for his outstanding contributions to scientific research and education.
Research and Leadership: With over 40 publications in high-impact journals, Dr. Ibrahim excels in gene cloning, cellular signaling, molecular immunology, and neuroprotection. He mentors students, contributing to academic development, and holds leadership roles at the College of Medicine, University of Zakho.
Expertise: Dr. Ibrahim’s expertise spans genetics, molecular biology, immunology, toxicology, and pharmacology. His commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, coupled with exceptional communication skills, makes him a valuable asset to any academic institution. As a workshop chair, he continues to contribute significantly to academia and research.
