Department: Physics Education
The workshop in brief: The 6th International Workshop on Nanotechnology was organized by the Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Education at TIU. The Workshop includes two sessions. And after the workshop, there was a Panel Discussion. As a highly interdisciplinary field, nanotechnology incorporates concepts from a variety of traditional disciplines that can be applied to all other scientific disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, materials science, and engineering. In this workshop, outstanding topics about the recent development in nanotechnology and promising applications presented by experts in nanotechnology field. Keynote speakers as Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mansoob Khan from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Darussalam and other distinguished researchers were invited to present their recent findings in the field of Nanotechnology. There were Six keynote speeches with trendy and hot topics about the nanoscience and nanotechnology field. The panel discussion, titled “Pathways to the Establishment and Sustainability of a Nanotechnology Association in Kurdistan-Iraq” was the final session of the workshop, in which distinguished academicians participated in a productive discussion. Thus, the workshop seeks to accomplish the following objectives:
1- Share recent studies on nanotechnology field inside and outside of Iraq by experts in nanotechnology field.
2- Build a researchers’ network for scientific collaboration on recent nanotechnology discoveries.
3- Giving chance to the young researchers to share their work on nanotechnology field and pave the way for acquiring creative discoveries.
Participants: Around 450 people participated in the workshop as hybrid. All keynote speeches were shared online in real-time. In each discussion, there were approximately 80 online attendees from various countries. At the end of the first and second sessions, a link for attendance registration through ZOOM was shared for certificate submission. The participants who were attending the sessions filled up the forms. According to the submissions received, more than 207 participants attended the workshop sessions online.
