The workshop in brief: The International Relations and Diplomacy Department has, today, 22nd November, 2022, successfully conducted an International Workshop under the theme: Protecting Iraq’s Territorial Integrity: Turkish and Iranian Military Interventions in Iraq, where Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhanad Seloom of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Qatar and Dr. Mohammad Salih Mustafa, the Head of IRD Department served as the distinguished speakers, while Mr. Dana Sajadi acted as the moderator

Outcome of the workshop:
The first speaker, Dr. Muhanad spoke at length on the precipitating factors and geostrategic interests of the Turkish and Iranian military interventions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The second speaker, Dr. Mohammad comprehensively and analytically, took the participants through the political, ideological and psychological dynamics of the interventions and the need for proper contextualization and understanding of the issues and interests of the actors.

The speakers responded to all the questions that were asked by the participants in a convincing manner, with solutions advanced by them.
