New Frontiers in Intelligent Completions

8th National Pharmacy Workshop
January 27, 2025
Artificial Intelligence Challenges in the Academic Field
January 27, 2025
Faculty: Engineering
Department: Petroleum and Mining Engineering
Type of the workshop: International workshop

The workshop in brief: The workshop discusses managing uncertainties in carbonate reservoirs and offers real-time monitoring and control solutions for well zones. It introduces the Thru-tubing Retrievable Intelligent Completion System (TRICS), which allows rig-less deployment in open-hole horizontal wells, transforming production engineering and reservoir management to be more efficient and cost-effective. The objective is to provide knowledge about cutting-edge completion systems, enhance field operations, and improve oil recovery in challenging conditions.

Participants: 68 Participants including students and staff from our and other universities, graduates, and engineers and professionals from various companies

Date and time: September 8th, 2024 10:00 AM Erbil Local Time
Place: Erbil, Tishk International University, Hall 301, Education Building
Session topics:
1. Managing Uncertainties in Carbonate Reservoirs
2. Intelligent Completion Systems for Real-Time Monitoring

Presenters names and affiliations:

Dr. Muhammad Arsalan, Saudi Aramco

Outcome of the workshop:
The participants gained valuable insights into intelligent completions for well zones, especially with the introduction of TRICS technology. This platform enables real-time monitoring and control, offering cost-effective solutions to common issues in open-hole wells, improving production, and reservoir management strategies.
