The workshop in brief:
The workshop aimed to discuss the learning outcomes of design courses for architecture department and methods of improving their productivity according to updated Iraqi standards for designing and construction. As well as providing an insight to how the design courses have chosen the projects for students through the teaching semesters and the department’s objectives.
Participants: The workshop was attended by faculty staff members which collectively made about 25 participants.

Outcome of the workshop:
The workshop had two sessions where the first session discussed the learning outcomes of the department in general following the learning outcomes of design courses for each stage. The outcomes were based on the curriculum of each stage, and based on them, evaluation criteria were suggested for each of the courses. The second session discussed the process of design and how projects were picked for each semester. The Iraqi standards of housing were discussed and mentioned, since they are the reference behind selecting each project in all Iraqi Universities-Architecture departments. The areas of each project, their types, and the methods of designing them were discussed as well. The workshop aimed to connect design courses with the courses in the curriculum to increase the productivity of the students and to achieve better results.
