The workshop in brief: The International Relations and Diplomacy Department, today, November 14th, 2022, successfully organized a workshop on the “U.S. Education System and Student Visas,” in collaboration with the Public Affairs Section & Consular Section (Visa Section) of the U.S. Consulate General, Erbil, Iraq. Two distinguished speakers, Ms. Karen Coulson (Vice Consul General – Visa Section) and Mr. Reving Mizory (Education Adviser – Public Affairs Section), presented papers on Student Visas and U.S. Education System respectively.

Participants: 32 Departmental Student and University and FASE Staff

Outcome of the workshop:
The first speaker took the participants, especially students, through the entire U.S. visa process, student visa classifications (F, J & M), etc. On the other hand, the second speaker made a presentation on the U.S. education system, the funded programs available and categories of universities and how to secure admission. Both speakers responded adequately to all the questions that were asked during the Q & A Session.
