The workshop in brief: The Faculty of Applied Science/ Medical Analysis department at Tishk International University has organized an extensive e National workshop on Cancer awareness. workshop is designed to enlighten students, academic staff and audiences about the types of cancer both solid cancer and hematological malignancies along with the methods that are used for early diagnosing of the disease and ways to prevent the rise in the number of cases. Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases of the 20th century and spreading further with continuance and increasing incidence in the 21st century. Solid tumors may be benign (not cancer), or malignant (cancer). Different types of solid tumors are named for the type of cells that form them. Examples of solid tumors are sarcomas, carcinomas, and lymphomas. Hematologic malignancies are cancers that begin in blood-forming tissue, such as the bone marrow, or in the cells of the immune system. There are three main types of hematologic malignancies: leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Objectives: 1-Is to increase awareness about the disease and to minimize the social stigma connected with it. There’s always hope beyond what you see. 2-enhancing the knowledge about types of Cancer and methods of early diagnosis along with prevention.

Session topics: 
1st session: General introduction of Solid Cancer and Prevention Methods.
2nd session: Hematological Malignancies and role of CBC in diagnosis.

1: Dr. Sami Saleem- Oncologist at Rizgary Teaching Hospital – Oncology department.
2: Dr. Talar Muhammed- Hematologist at Nanakali Hospital for Blood diseases and Cancer.

Outcome of the workshop:
Food fundraising and CBC test arranged by Medical Analysis research assistants and students, the collected revenue will be presented as a gift for Childs who got cancer at Nanakali hospital.
