The workshop in brief: The Medical Analysis Department-Faculty of Applied Science at Tishk International University has coordinated an International Workshop on Drosophila Melanogaster: A Small- but Mighty Model for Biomedical Research in the 21st Century with the effort of both organizers, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jaafaru Sani Mohammed and Dr. Jibril Habib Yusuf, in collaboration with Dr. Zainab Kasim MOHAMMED and Mr. Jibril IBRAHIM from Nigeria. Objectives: The workshop is designed to enlighten final-year students, research assistants, academic staff, and researchers across all areas of life sciences, especially biomedical, pharmacological, and physiological-based research, about the importance of using Drosophila melanogaster as a newly emerged model for various forms of diseases particularly in the 21st Century.

1st session: o Introduction to Drosophila Melanogaster as a model organism. o Drosophila Melanogaster as a disease model for biomedical research

2nd Session: o Introduction to Genetics of Drosophila melanogaster. o Life cycle and diet formulation for Drosophila melanogaster
