The workshop in brief:  Civil engineering department of TIU organized a workshop entitled “National Workshop on Curriculum development for civil engineering program at TIU” in presence of professors form the EPU and Salahadin university, expert civil engineers, our alumni and some owner of construction firms. The curriculum should be oriented according to program learning outcomes of the program, and the required construction industry in the region, the curriculum of the department should be developed accordingly. Presenting plans for curriculum in order to achieve the goals of our civil engineering department in the preparation of civil engineers that anticipate the request of a changing world, by building their expertise in Structural, Material, Hydraulic, Geotechnical, Transportation, Construction Management and Environmental Engineering. Furthermore, infra-structure engineering, professional ethics, innovation will be looked after in each said discipline. The outcomes are gained based on the following goals:

1. Preparing the graduates so that can meet the requirements of construction industry.

2. Increase the opportunity of graduate employability through having different soft skills.

3. Competing with the public graduates by comparing the program of civil engineering.

Participants: The workshop was attended by 18 participants including owner of construction firms, professors, alumni, expert civil engineers and teaching staff of our department.
