On June 23, 2024, the English Language Teaching department at Tishk International University hosted a comprehensive workshop titled ”Advancing Graduation Research: Redefining Practices” at the Education Building from 10:00 to 15:00. The workshop was expertly moderated by Dr. Venera Ulker, head of the ELT department, who also guided the panel discussions. department, and featured the entire ELT staff as panelists: Dr. Unal Ulker Dr. Sami Hussein Barzani Dr. Abdurhman Wahab Asst. Prof. Dr. Aziza Kavlu Mr. Soran Kurdi Mr. Reman Sabah Mr. Hiwa Fouad Mr. Behect Celik Mr. Adem Dashkan Mrs. Shahdia Nurmatova Ms. Fatima Saadi Ms. Kanar Zirak Ms. Soma Hassan Ms. Aivar Luqman Ms. Lydya Aso A key focus of the workshop was the discussion of updates and revisions to the Graduation Research Project (GRP) and Capstone Project (CP) handbook for the upcoming academic year. Among the points addressed was the proposal to create video tutorials to assist students in creating tables of contents, figures, and lists for their projects. Participants engaged in in-depth conversations aimed at refining guidelines, clarifying expectations, and ensuring alignment with current educational standards and best practices in research methodology. Throughout the day, attendees explored innovative approaches to enhance the quality and relevance of student
projects, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies. The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to uphold academic rigor and support student success in their research endeavors at Tishk International University.
