The workshop in brief:
- All invasive procedures involve contact between a medical device or surgical instrument and a patient’s sterile tissue or mucous membranes. A major risk of all such procedures is the introduction of pathogenic microbes that could lead to infection.

The outcome of the workshop:
Detailed information was discussed about disinfection and sterilization techniques. The difference between disinfection and sterilization was clearly clarified. The importance of sterilization to prevent cross infection was mentioned.
