The workshop in brief:
As part of departmental activities this workshop was organized to highlight the essential role of class advisors in supporting students’ academic and personal growth. The workshop brought together faculty members, advisors, and educational leaders from various universities to exchange experiences, share best practices, and strengthen the advisory system across institutions. Through interactive sessions and discussions, participants explored practical strategies for effective communication, mentorship, and student engagement, emphasizing the importance of class advisory as a bridge between students and the university community.
The targeted objectives were as follow:
- Strengthen the role of class advisory in student development.
- Enhance communication between advisors, students, and administration.
- Equip advisors with effective mentoring and guidance skills.
- Promote student engagement and well-being.
- Share best practices in class advisory.
- Build a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Participants: 45 staff participants.

Based on the presentations and active discussion which have been done during the workshop the participants got the ability to:
- Participants developed a clear understanding of the teacher’s role as a trusted academic advisor.
- Faculty exchanged effective advisory practices tailored to first- through fourth-year students.
- Practical strategies were identified to support first-year transition and adjustment.
- Approaches to enhance student responsibility, engagement, and professionalism were strengthened.
- The workshop reinforced the role of faculty leadership in building a positive advisory culture.
