Faculty: Applied Science

Department: Medical Analysi

Type of the workshop: National Workshop

The workshop in brief:

Cancer remains a leading global health challenge,
characterized by complex and diverse pathological
processes that affect individuals differently based on
genetic, environmental, lifestyle, and socio-economic
factors. Cancer pathology involves the abnormal and
uncontrolled growth of cells, leading to tissue invasion,
organ dysfunction, and, in many cases, metastasis. Despite
significant advances in diagnostic techniques, nutritional
interventions, and imaging technologies, the burden of
cancer continues to impact millions of patients and
families worldwide. In recognition of World Cancer Day
2026, themed “Strengthening Cancer Care through
Radiology, Nutrition and Medical Analysis,” this national
workshop brings together experts from medical analysis,
nutrition and dietetics, and medical technical radiography
to highlight the uniqueness of each cancer journey while
reinforcing the shared global responsibility to combat the
disease.

The workshop aims to commiserate with cancer victims
across the globe and raise awareness of the critical role
that early diagnosis, evidence-based nutritional support,
advanced imaging, and interdisciplinary collaboration play
in improving cancer outcomes. By fostering informed
dialogue and public engagement, programmes such as this
contribute to enhanced awareness, prevention strategies,
patient-centred care, and advocacy for equitable access to
cancer services.
The key objectives of the workshop include promoting
understanding of cancer pathology, emphasizing the
importance of integrated healthcare approaches,
strengthening research and professional collaboration, and
inspiring collective action toward compassionate and
inclusive cancer care.
