The workshop in brief:

World Stroke Day is observed annually on 29th October, a global initiative established by the World Stroke Organization to raise awareness about stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery. The day serves as a vital reminder of the serious impact of stroke worldwide and emphasizes the importance of timely intervention, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modification in reducing stroke-related disability and mortality.

It also highlights the crucial role of physiotherapists and other rehabilitation professionals in enhancing recovery, promoting functional independence, and improving the quality of life of stroke survivors. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, physiotherapists contribute significantly to reducing the global burden of stroke.

This year, the Physiotherapy Department at Tishk International University is organizing an awareness and educational workshop on 29th October 2025 to commemorate World Stroke Day. The event aims to promote evidence-based rehabilitation strategies, enhance professional collaboration, and inspire community awareness toward stroke prevention and recovery

Participants: 94 Participants (TIU Staff, Dean, Head of departments, lecturers and research assistants), outside audiences include Doctors, Students and Physiotherapists from HMU and physiotherapists, also all other relevant departmental students and staff in the TIU university.
